In the pronova BKK study "Fitness 2022", the majority of study participants categorised sport as preventative and health-promoting. However, during the two-year pandemic, 65 % of Germans have experienced health restrictions such as

  • Lack of exercise (35 %)
  • Back and neck pain (27 %)
  • mental health problems (25 %)
  • greater weight gain (16%)
  • Increased alcohol and nicotine consumption (13%)
  • Shortness of breath (10%)

The pronova BKK "Fitness 2022" study was conducted in January as a nationwide survey of a representative sample of 1,000 people from the German population (aged 18 and over).
