In the BURDEN Study 2020 for the valid estimation of the prevalence of back and neck pain in Germany, more than 5,000 German adults were surveyed by telephone in a cross-sectional study between October 2019 and March 2020 on the frequency and intensity of back and neck pain within the last 12 months, stating the impairment of quality of life and existing concomitant diseases. Almost two thirds of respondents had experienced back pain (61.3 %) at least once in a year. Almost half of the test group reported neck pain (45.7 %) at least once in 12 months. Chronic back pain was present in 15.5% of the study participants, while lower back pain was twice as common as upper back pain.

These results clearly show the need for early prevention and treatment. The frequency and intensity of back and neck pain increase significantly with age and result in a growing burden of disease. In order to prevent this development, preventive approaches, such as exercise or work-related interventions, should be offered and effectively implemented on a broad scale at a younger age.
Exercise, nutrition, a healthy diet and mental health are factors that influence back health. The mobee® 360 health checks provide an ideal basis for analysing the musculoskeletal system, body composition and mental health with individual measures and training recommendations.
