Our breathing, a continuous process that influences our lives every single minute, acts as a mirror for our feelings and at the same time provides the essential raw materials for our survival.

IVA test - determination of individual vagus activation respiration
The IVA test determines the individual breathing rate at which vagus activation can dampen sympathetic activity, reduce silent inflammation, improve sleep, recovery, cellular health, energy balance and overall health. Simplified, this breathing is called "Recovery breathing" labelled.

Basics
Sympathicotonia, a state of increased activity of the sympathetic nervous system, is often associated with an increased inflammatory load, so-called 'silent inflammation'. This chronic, low-grade inflammation has the potential to impair the function of mitochondria, the powerhouses of our cells that are responsible for ATP production. Impaired ATP production and the resulting lack of energy often lead to a variety of health problems. Activating the vagus nerve through conscious breathing offers a way to dampen sympathetic activity, reduce the inflammatory load and thus improve mitochondrial function and ATP production. This helps to improve cellular health, energy balance and overall health.
While the ISRA test focuses on the regulation or mitigation of the physiological stress reaction of an immediate stress situation, the IAV test is concerned with determining recovery-promoting and activating breathing. In addition to the scientific principles described in the "ISRA test" section, the IAV test is also based on the work of de Souza[1]published in 2018, comes into play.
It was determined that the highest vagal activation of the autonomic nervous system at a conscious breathing rate of 80% corresponds to the so-called individual, spontaneous breathing rate.[2] (also referred to in simplified form as "normal breathing") takes place.
Individual breathing training options in the my mobee® app
The individual recommendations for vagus activation breathing are included in the my mobee® App and are available to the customer as guided training, including the recommended training parameters (frequency and duration).
