Best practice - customised solutions after the initial test

Analysing muscular mobility with the mobee fit module.

Interview article from TT-DIGI, trade magazine for the new healthcare market, November 2023 issue

More and more physiotherapy practices are expanding their range of therapies to include suitable health services such as BGM or rehabilitation sports. Also in Rostock at 'PHYSIO the therapists' such a concept works perfectly.

Philipp Hambloch spoke to Jana Kokot about therapy, training, diagnostics and digitalisation.

TT-DIGI: Dear Jana, there is an impressive team photo on your website. How has 'PHYSIO die therapeuten' developed since it was founded?

Jana Kokot: We are a family-run company and started with our first practice in 2012. As the concept worked and there is a therapeutic need, we have had five locations since the beginning of 2020 and now have over 50 employees.

What is your therapeutic approach?

We don't just offer physiotherapy. Our holistic approach is based on the pillars of physiotherapy, FPZ, BGM and rehabilitation sports. We want to offer the best possible solution for every patient or customer. This is why our range also includes innovative forms of therapy such as Hunova Robotics or the Skillcourt. However, our aim is not to treat long-term patients, but rather to take a preventative approach wherever possible.

What makes diagnostics so important in the context of therapy and training?

We use diagnostics to make health visible. Data and facts make it easier to convince people of the benefits of changing their behaviour. We can use the results to develop individualised approaches.

How did you become mobee attentive?

As an FPZ provider, we were looking for an analysis tool. We did a lot of research and took our time making a decision. We were impressed by mobee's holistic and simple approach. We have very close contact with the team and felt that we were in good hands right from the start.

How is mobee conceptually integrated in your organisation?

The devices are located at one of our sites, but can be relocated as required. We use mobee for the initial and final tests, at FPZ also as an accompanying measurement. We use the results to develop therapy and training approaches. After completing a therapy programme, our physios make recommendations for further treatment based on the initial tests in order to maintain or improve the patient's health status.

Are there any other fields of application?

We also organise company events on special topics such as back pain, which is unfortunately widespread. Occupation-specific examinations for individual occupational groups such as carers or office workers are also possible. One of our practices also looks after the youth teams of Hansa Rostock. In addition to physiotherapeutic care, we also carry out performance tests. As we are also a regional partner of mobee, interested parties can also view and test the modules on request. We are a kind of living showroom.

Which mobee modules are you using?

We have all modules available and will also cover the area of performance/endurance through spiroergometry (Cortex is the mobee partner here) at the beginning of 2024. This product closes the last gap.

Keyword shortage of skilled labour. What do you do to find and retain good employees?

This is indeed a challenge. We have taken several measures. Firstly, we offer a 4-day week (38 hours) on request and have increased the basic salary. We also cooperate with physiotherapy schools, have created an image film and simplified the onboarding process. Since November 2022, we have been able to recruit twelve new physiotherapists.

It also offers modern workplaces with variety.

In addition to the various forms of therapy, digitalisation plays a major role for us. Last year, we equipped all physios with tablets. We also have our own digital health platform, which includes a tool for additional sales as well as internal communication and exercise videos.

Thank you for the interview. The interview was conducted by Philipp Hambloch.
